Adorn your face with Cupid’s insect-inspired jewelleryArtist Cupid taps into the face jewellery trend with new ornate nose ring collectionShareLink copied ✔️February 14, 2020BeautyBeauty newsTextAlex Peters Dazed Beauty Community member and Dazed 100er Cupid has heard our cries and dropped his first jewellery collection so you can get the Cupid look for yourself. Created in collaboration with fashion designer and close friend Sho Konishi, INSECTS is a range of ornate septum-rings in the style of Cupid’s opulent, ethereal aesthetic. Inspired by his and Konishi’s mutual love for nature and entomology, Cupid says the pieces were made to look as if insect legs were cradling a precious gem. “I’ve always wanted to venture into creating jewellery because I feel like my work is naturally so 3D-based and sculptural,” he told us. “Last year it was actually Dazed Beauty that featured me in the article “Is face jewellery the new make-up?” so I feel like it was only a matter of time before I created my own pieces.” Courtesy of Cupid In the past year, Cupid has really made a name for himself in the industry with artists including Willow Smith and Brooke Candy tapping him for his signature face adornments and his work has appeared on the cover of LOVE magazine and in the pages of Dazed China. This new collection signals an evolution for Cupid who is branching out into both product and jewellery for the first time, a move that he credits Konishi for. “He really made it happen,” Cupid says. “He has experience creating jewellery and understands the making of a collection and this definitely wouldn’t have happened without him.” Made from silver with a selection of gems including tiger eye, jade and black pearl the septum rings range in price from $180-$320. And if you are struggling to choose, why not try Cupid’s favourite the oxidised jade septum piece. “I’ve been really fascinated with jade and it’s history in jewellery around the world,” he says, “It’s the most gorgeous shade of green.” Creative direction, MUA and styling Cupid, set design Manu Torres, photography Agustin Hernandez, models Cupid's father and nieceCourtesy of CupidExpand your creative community and connect with 15,000 creatives from around the world.READ MORE‘Cortisol face’ and the lies about muscly womenWhy this artist tattooed her past lovers’ mothers’ names on her ribcageThis cult Instagram explores how hair brings us togetherAmuse-bush?
