Announcing the news on Instagram, Gomez who was wearing make-up from the range, said she wanted to make a brand that made people feel comfortable and can be enjoyed by all. “We are not meant to look like everybody else, we’re meant to look like ourselves.” Partnering with Sephora, the brand will launch this summer before going global next year. “A lot of what’s coming up is going to be in participation with you guys,” she says. “I want your help to build the brand because I want it to be real, real stories, real people and just a place where people can feel like they’re in a community. Where they don’t feel pressure to look like anything but themselves.” Unsurprisingly, fans are very excited to see what the brand will debut with. It has already amassed over one million followers on Instagram, mostly thanks to the repurposing of a previous account.
