Following on from our previous two cover reveals – Kate Moss and Travis Scott reimagined as mythical creatures, and Slick Woods transformed into a digital avatar – our third cover features cult artist, musician and beauty icon Genesis P-Orridge, shot at their last London gig by Danish photographer Casper Sejersen, and styled by Ellie Grace Cumming exclusively in Yang Li. Seen by many as the "Godparent” of industrial music thanks to their role in founding Throbbing Gristle, a band notorious for their controversial visual imagery and discordant sound manipulation, it was P-Orridge’s work with their own body that became their most radical experiment. Transgressing all boundaries of self, gender and physicality, in 1993 P-Orridge and wife Lady Jaye embarked on a journey they called Pandrogyne Project, a fusing of two individuals into a third that only existed when they were together. The two began to transform into one entity, with matching breast implants, tattooed beauty marks, and eye jobs. Lady Jaye underwent surgery on her chin and nose to match P-Orridge who briefly experimented with hormone therapy. “The body can be the thing that you feel is limiting what you're able to do, but those limitations can sometimes be the trigger to a really incredible solution, and so it's this ambivalent love/hate between materiality and imagination," says Genesis to our Editor-in-Chief Bunny Kinney in their forthcoming interview conversation for DazedBeauty.com Keep your eyes peeled for the last our of cover reveals soon.
