Yesterday, Prada showed their AW19 menswear collection, as well as the debut of the Pre-Fall women’s, in Milan. The collection that Miuccia sent down the runway was dark and twisted, inspired by trashy horror films such as Frankenstein and Rocky Horror Picture Show, which also lent itself to the spooky soundtrack.
For make-up and hair, Prada enlisted the expertise of industry heavyweights Pat McGrath and Guido Palau. Faces were kept natural with dewy, hydrated skin and lips, for which Pat used her cult lip balm, Lip Fetish. Hair, meanwhile, was moulded into twisty, curling mullets. Straight on, models – including Kaia Gerber, and Gigi Hadid in her Prada debut – appeared to have shaggy pixie cuts, which often turned out to have ponytails when viewed from the side or back.
