According to reports on Deadline, the cult 70s classic is now being adapted into a special one-off drama for Hulu, with Captain America’s Russo Brothers in line to direct. The iconic Walter Hill-directed film – which first hit cinemas in 1979 – follows a deadly gang as they attempt to battle their way through the seedy underbelly of the city. Based on Sol Yurick's 1965 novel of the same name, it gained cult status shortly after its release, despite being plagued with production problems and a frosty critical reception. While the remake currently has no director, release date, or cast attached, Deadline reports that Frank Baldwin has been assigned as its writer. The site also adds that, while the script will closely follow the original Warriors film, it will keep “its own unique brand of grit, pulp, sex and violence.” Expand your creative community and connect with 15,000 creatives from around the world.READ MOREWhy did Satan start to possess girls on screen in the 70s?Learn the art of photo storytelling and zine making at Dazed+Labs InstagramHow to stay authentic online, according to Instagram Rings creators8 essential skate videos from the 90s and beyond with Glue SkateboardsThe unashamedly queer, feminist, and intersectional play you need to see080 Barcelona Fashion080 Barcelona Fashion Week, these were your best momentsParis artists are pissed off with this ‘gift’ from Jeff KoonsA Seat at the TableVinca Petersen: Future FantasySnarkitecture’s guide on how to collide art and architectureBanksy has unveiled a new anti-weapon artworkVincent Gallo: mad, bad, and dangerous to know
