Quentin Tarantino has form when it comes to working with a small group of talented collaborators more than once. The ‘Tarantino universe’ is filled with familiar faces – whether it’s Christopher Walken or Michael Madsen popping up in multiple roles in the director’s films. And to add to this sense of familiarity, Tarantino himself recently confirmed that all of his films are indeed connected – with all of the characters inhabiting two fictional universes.
In an interview with Deadline, legendary composer Ennio Morricone confirmed that he would be working with Tarantino on his forthcoming film – about which nothing else is known. Speaking to the publication, he said “Tarantino has already told me that there will be a next movie that we are going to make together”, before going on to say that “I told him that in the future I would like to have much more time. I would like to start working with him even long before in order to have the time to work, to think about the music, and also to exchange more ideas with him about what I am going to score for him.”
Morricone is renowned in film circles, having been nominated for an Oscar for his score for recent Tarantino film The Hateful Eight. He’s worked on films including Cinema Paradiso, he Good, The Bad And The Ugly, and Malena. He was also awarded an honorary Oscar in 2007 for his contribution to film. Still going strong at 87 years old, we look forward to hearing what Morricone comes up with next.
