Arts+CultureNewsGet your first look at James Franco’s Tommy Wiseau movieThe actor has released an amazing new image from the set of his upcoming project, The Disaster ArtistShareLink copied ✔️December 8, 2015Arts+CultureNewsTextDominique Sisley After promising earlier this year that he would direct a making-of movie about insane cult classic The Room, James Franco has made good. Filming is, as of yesterday, officially underway – with the director/writer/artist/whatever channelling the true spirit of Tommy Wiseau by both starring in and directing the project. For those that need a quick recap, the mockumentary movie is set to be a remake of the book The Disaster Artist: The Making of The Room, and will be all about the creation of the so-totally-terrible-its-actually-perfect original film. Seth Rogen will also be at the helm as writer, with Franco’s brother Dave set to play the role of Greg Sestero (aka “oh hi Mark” Mark). See a delicious taster below: The film is also set to star Hunger Games actor Josh Hutcherson, as well as Kate Upton and Ari Gaynor. According to reports in The Hollywood Reporter last week, Hutcherson will be playing Philip Haldimann (aka creepy “I just like to watch you guys” Denny), with Gaynor taking on the role of Juliette Danielle (aka sociopathic “you're tearing me apart Lisa!” Lisa). Upton’s role is yet to be announced. Sadly there is no release date on the project as of yet, but you can revisit the original movie by watching the trailer below.
