Heterosexuals haven’t faced oppression for centuries for being heterosexuals, you know, like LGBT people have. Being straight has long been widely considered "the norm". However one heterosexual crusader, Anthony Rebello from Seattle, set up a "Heterosexual Parade", clearly a little miffed at all those parties and celebrations that LGBT people have been having recently. Writing on the Facebook event page, he said: "In the name of equality & equal rights, I have created this event to celebrate our right to be heterosexual, and to encourage younger heterosexuals that they should be proud of their heterosexuality." He marched yesterday through the city’s Capitol Hill. Antony Rebello via Facebook Weirdly, the event didn’t attract any loud and proud heterosexuals to march about the city and seemingly no one else in the area was interested. Rebello invited over 2,000 people on Facebook, but the pictures of the event reveal just him and a cluster of balloons. However, he claims that the photos of him on his own are misleading and that people did show up but they were scared of having their photo taken because they are scared of the LGBT community. He wrote on the event page: “A lot of heterosexuals don’t want their pictures taken because they are scared of the LGBT community. Look at the way they have treated me. A list of angry gay people have been created, and these people have done nothing but embarrass the gay community.” Either way, he’s either hosted an event that nobody’s come to, or an event that people are ashamed to be at. Neither are a good look. Head here for more bizarre displays of "straight rights".
