The awkward and chronically bullied 11-and-a-half-year-old will feature in Solondz's next project, Wiener-Dog. Greta Gerwig from Frances Ha is set to play an older version of Dawn. Welcome to the Dollhouse fans will recall that "Wiener-Dog" is the nickname that Dawn's bullies give her, so it seems like her character is set to play a pivotal role in the film. Not much is known about the film's characters, except that all their interconnecting stories will be linked by a dog. Here's the Hollywood Reporter's description of the plot: "The script tells several stories featuring people who find their life inspired or changed by one particular dachshund, who seems to be spreading comfort and joy." French actress Julie Delpy from Before Midnight is also in talks to star. Unfortunately, Heather Matarazzo, who played the original Dawn Weiner, will not be returning for the new film.
