Yeezy was there to teach fashion students as part of his community service responsibilities, enforced on him after he went Wild West on a photographer at LAX last year. According to students, Kanye was animated and passionate (duh), with a propensity to swing from topic to topic. But obviously, we only wanted to know one thing: what do you actually learn at a class taught by Kanye West? Complex tracked down a student called Andre Pitts, who tweeted photos of Yeezy strolling into his classroom and was there to absorb the knowledge. Here's what went down: THE ILLUMINATI IS ALIVE!!!! Anyone who thought that Kanye was part of the Illuminati, think again. Pitts interpreted Kanye's constant reference to a mysterious "they" as evidence of the Illuminati's rude health. According to the Visual Communications major, Kanye is totally convinced the Illuminati exists. "Every time he’d get a question to ask he’d just talk about the Illuminati," Pitts said, revealing that West made everybody turn off their cameras when talk turned to the shadowy conspiracy group. "He talked a little bit about how 'they want to control us'. And 'they want to keep us on drugs', and all this kind of stuff." THERE ISN'T MUCH POINT LISTENING TO ANYTHING EXCEPT KANYE When pressed on whether or not he listens to his own music, Kanye responded in the only way that Kanye can. "Someone asked if he listens to his own music, or if he listens to other people’s music," said Pitts. "He said he likes to listen to his own music since he thinks he’s the best artist." Fair enough – I've listened to "New Slaves" an awful lot. Kanye west came to my class and spoke...pretty cool— Cannabinoids (@100percentTHC) September 19, 2014He came and inspired me pic.twitter.com/fv7wJHJvuQ— Cannabinoids (@100percentTHC) September 20, 2014 THERE WILL ALWAYS BE SOMETHING MORE EXPENSIVE THAN A ROLEX There is no point aspiring to be seen with a Rolex on as a way of representing your own success – someone will always have more. Wise words from Yeezy, who advised his students that "success was really being able to do things for others as well as the people around you and yourself", which is true, uplifting and inherently spiritual. Our advice? If you really need a Rolex, buy a fake one from the inside of a man's blazer for under a tenner. No-one will notice and anyone that does, you shouldn't be hanging out with anyway. THE FASHION INDUSTRY STILL HATES KANYE Despite being widely regarded as a creative genius (and not just by himself), Kanye is still being ignored by the fashion industry. One major sticking point? Fendi, who famously rejected his design for a leather jogging pant. Kanye told the class that the house rejected his designs on the grounds that they already have "legitimate fashion designers". Instead, Kanye believes that his Grammy Awards are proof enough. "He thinks of them as reference points," Pitts said. "And that he can point back to them and say, 'I’ve proven that I can do this, so I should be able to do this.'" KANYE LOVES A GOOD TANGENT What do you expect from a man who's successfully managed to make ranting a crucial part of his live performances? Pitts describes how Kanye talked for nearly two hours about "a lot of stuff. He was all over the place." Yeezy sounds like exactly the type of teacher that every kid loves - passionate, informed and so absorbed by what they're saying that they don't notice if you're napping.
