When reflecting on the ‘90s, New York-based actress India Menuez pulls out some found prose: “I found a diary from when I was six with only one entry: ‘I wish I was Baby Spice.’” Not that she’s all sweetness and light – the strawberry blonde recently played a freedom fighter in Olivier Assayas’s Something in the Air (2012), a film about the Paris riots of May ’68, and co-founded art collective Luck You (say it!) at the age of 15. “I just wanted to see if it would work,” she grins. “It’s growing like a plant – we all take turns to water it.” Although her generation has had internet access since they were knee-high, Menuez admits she would rather spend her spare time making pancakes and chilling with her cat at home in Brooklyn – “but I do occasionally fall into the Tumblr pit!”
