Our ‘Tumblr Pick of the Week’ posts, in which we feature our favourite T sites, have generated plenty of social actions and reactions. According to Facebook, it looks like your favourite Tumblrs this year were about supermodels and... cats! Thanks for all your suggestions and comments, please keep them coming in 2012! Our Time Machine series, which has seen us post iconic covers of Dazed’s past also generated a lot of excitement over Facebook and Twitter, especially the September issue from 2004 featuring Björk. To kick off the summer our favourite R'n'B diva Beyonce fronted the cover of the July issue shot by photographer Sharif Hamza, wearing a custom made Givenchy jumper. Within a few hours the cover quickly made its way across the Internet and claimed the title for the ‘most Liked cover of the year’ on our Facebook page. Later on in September, for our 20th anniversary issue of Dazed, we called upon a selection of our favourite collaborators to fill our fictional time capsule by each donating the item they thought best represented their last two decades in fashion. The result? An eclectic mix of items, from shoes and sculptures, to signed books and photographs by the likes of Kate Moss, Karl Lagerfeld, Sarah Burton, Christopher Kane, Marios Schwab and Viktor & Rolf. But once the magazine was out, we realised that it would be a waste to keep such a covertable list of items locked up - so we teamed up with with eBay to launch a memorabilia auction in aid of Oxfam. Thanks to everyone who participated... we eventually raised a grand total of nearly £5K! And again in September, as part of Mike Figgis' one-day festival at the Royal Opera House, we invited you to come clean and 'tell the truth' with a photograph of your choice. With thousands of archived photos on Dazed Digital, for our aptly named 'Just Tell The Truth' project we opted to utilise the images from the breathtaking RISE section, which provided the perfect backdrop to your funny, eye-opening, touching and even x-rated confessions. We received a tonne of submissions... but did you work out which ones were ours? Looking forward to working and interacting with you all again in 2012! Escape the algorithm!
