On February 15, Dazed celebrated the launch of the Dazed Archive – a custom AI-powered search engine built off 30 years of Dazed content in partnership with Lenovo and Intel – as part of the launch of Lenovo’s ‘Make Space’ platform. To make room (and celebrate) the launch of Make Space, visionary fashion director and stylist Nicola Formichetti and digital artist and designer Yehwan Song joined the one-day festival for panels on the integration of technology and social media in luxury storytelling and physical communication across digital culture and creative. Artist and creator Osean also led a hands-on workshop on how to create virtual worlds.
Make Space is a new platform by Lenovo Yoga that encourages young creatives to discover new possibilities using technology and AI to uplift the creative process. For the launch, Formichetti used the Lenovo Yoga Aura Edition, AI and Smart Modes to create what he calls a ‘Limitless Fashion Show’ for Lenovo Yoga’s Made by film series. Song was inspired by Smart Share, creating a work of art that speaks to the idea of interconnectedness, and Osean rotoscoped and manufactured a journey through a unique neon city, using AI, the Lenovo Yoga Aura Edition and the onboard Intel chip.
Lenovo’s Make Space Series aims to bring the creative community together to discover new opportunities, possibilities and forms of expression with the platform. Last weekend, this kicked off at the launch event at 154 Scott Ave, Brooklyn (down the road from Dazed Archive Live). There, Rebecca Black and Doss played DJ sets while people enjoyed artwork by Oseanworld, Yehwan Song, Nicola Formichetti and EricDoesVFX, an AI-powered Smart Share Runway Experience and installations powered by Lenovo Yoga Aura Edition AI PCs in the Make Space Lab. Needless to say, a time was had, and a space was carved out to celebrate the launch of Make Space.
