Dazed says: The Ghost Frequency are a London-based five piece, upturning tables in the face of neu-rave, and influenced by Haruki Murakami. Wiggling their weird prog electro and fretting synths and guitars to crowds of enthralled teenage girls it's only a matter of minutes before some ill-researched newspaper starts a new youth culture loosely based on this lot's antics. Neo-grunge here we come.

What's...

...so special about you, then?

We play hard, fast and dirty, and we're not preoccupied with attaching ourselves to some derivative ironic novelty.

...your worst vice?

Getting over excited and obsessive about synthesis and losing sleep over fucked up circuit bent speak and spell toys.

...the best piece of advice you've heard?

Doran: This old guy came up to me after a show we played in an old strip joint and asked me what microphone I used. When I told him, he replied with "Nah, nah, you wanna use an SM57, like Mick Jagger... it'll pick up the high notes better". Although, I didn't actually take this advice on board so it wasn't really the best, more the strangest!

...the skankiest gig you've played?

We've played shows where the stage has literally been the size of a shoe box, and once we have all our gear up there we're practically on top of each other.

This usually results in our guitarist's over-zealous movements knocking him on the floor and almost taking the synths down with him. No real injuries... yet!

...good about your music?

We like mixing different styles together, like 80's electro breakdance with post-hardcore. Or ghetto tech sub bass shit with dance hall and stuff. I think the result of this is pretty endearing if you're into any of that, if not then people usually look a bit scared and confused but applaud anyway!

...your worst fashion secret?

Our drummer Ben is pioneering commando, and Ross and Doran fit better in girls or childrens clothes!

...does your family think of you?

I think they are happy we don't practice in their houses any more. Some people just don't dig synths as much as us at night!

...next year going to bring?

Dance moves, dance and dancing. Some singles, an album, some touring, a hair cut maybe.... ? We just wanna keep having fun and pushing music where we want it to go.

...your favourite website?

...at the top of your shit list?

New Rave
Neu Rave
Nu Rave
Or however which way they'll decide it looks coolest next week.
