"These photographs were taken during solitary walks through public gardens and museums in Paris and Rome. I have long been fascinated by the still and silent presence of these statues in the midst of all people and how they are unfazed with time passing by. They attracted me for the sensuality and the tension in the nudity of their poses, and the beauty of their forms", photographer Carlotta Manaigo explains.
