Children 'Ruins' Remix SpecialDazed speak to the creepy lot presenting the Drop the Lime Remix of their new single 'Ruins'...ShareLink copied ✔️April 30, 2010MusicIncomingText Dazed Digital In celebration of Drop the Lime taking on eerie 'noise pop' quartet O.Children's new single 'Ruins', Dazed Digital talk to the band for some insight as to their superstar DJ backgrounds and the close call to them being called 'Sexpests'. Dazed Digital: How would you describe your sound?Tobi: Noise pop? Melodrama.DD: What are you aiming for with your music?Tobi: The main aim is to release a great album, which we're close to doing. It should be out in June. Aside from that just having fun doing what we do for a long time. DD: What did you do before you did music?Tobi: I was at school. I basically started making music as soon as I left at 16. I'm pretty sure Gauthier was a superstar skater in France and Harry James was a superstar DJ or something. As for Andi, no one really knows.DD: Do you see it as progressing say since the last time DD spoke to you?Tobi: Definitley. We've developed our sound, made an album and even had the chance to support Gary Numan. We've also got a lot of festivals to look forward to so it's onwards and upwards from here. And best of all it hasn't got boring so all is good.DD: What's the story behind the name?Tobi: We chose it while listening to the Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds song of the same name. It was basically either that or 'Shivers'...or 'Sexpests'. O.Children came out tops.DD: Have you seen Goths in Hot Weather?Tobi: This is hilarious. But seriously, it's pretty hard to stay cool in the summer when you wear a lot of black. That's why I'm getting a pink pastel suit. I might maybe experiment with double denim. Escape the algorithm!
