He recently dropped three episodes of his Beats 1 radio show, Blonded, to coincide with the US midterm elections, and last week he made his private Instagram available to the wider world. Yesterday (November 19), he shared an Instagram Story with his fans where he shares a clip of a new track, The FADER report. Captured by the @TeamFrankDaily fan account, the (extremely short) video shows Ocean bopping his head to eight seconds of new music in which he raps, captioned with four whirlwind emojis. Granted, it’s not exactly much, but it’s another cool moment of immediacy and transparency from the artist. At the start of the year, Ocean hinted that he might release new music at some point in 2018. Typically when an artist reactivates their social media, they’re gearing up for a new release – then again, Frank Ocean is hardly a typical artist, so who knows if there’s any greater reasoning behind this.
