During the interview, she revealed that she was working on a Broadway musical – but don’t expect to see it any time soon. When asked by one of her fans, Toni, if she’d ever considered writing and directing a film, Del Rey responded by saying, “I thought about writing a biopic about someone that wasn’t real. Actually, I was asked to write a musical, which I’ve started. It was for Broadway. I may finish in two or three years. Me and Rick (Nowells, Del Rey’s songwriting partner) have written something, so we’ll see.” Del Rey also revealed that if she was ever the subject of a biopic herself, she’d like it to be directed by Baz Luhrmann. “I’m thinking a big picture here, because I love Baz Luhrmann,” she said. “Not sure who would play me though.” Expand your creative community and connect with 15,000 creatives from around the world.READ MOREHow Turnstile are reinventing hardcore for the internet ageWill these be the biggest musical moments of 2026?Rising singer Liim is the crooning voice of New York CityFrench producer Malibu is an ambient antidote for the chronically online10 musicians to watch in 202610 great albums you may have missed in the last three monthsZukovstheworld on the UK Ug scene: ‘It’s modern pop music’The only tracks you need to hear from December 202511 alt Christmas anthems for the miserable and brokenhearted Last Days: The opera exploring the myth of Kurt CobainHow hip-hop is shaping the fight for Taiwan’s futureNew York indie band Boyish: ‘Fuck the TERFs and fuck Elon Musk’
