In a preview of his forthcoming video for “SAY10”, Manson sits in a dark room holding the bible before a knife flicks and the clip cuts to some shots of a decapitated Donald Trump. Or at least, an orange-skinned, red tie-wearing guy who looks like he could be Trump. The clip, directed by Tyler Shields, is complimented with Manson’s eerie delivery of “cash is the poor man’s money”. In the chorus Manson shouts, “you say god and I say SAY10”. The clip finishes with Manson standing before Trump’s corpse holding a head of blonde hair. It’s maybe a surprising video from Manson, who has said he’d be sitting out this election. Speaking to The Daily Beast, he said that the video was for the viewer to interpret, saying “as an artist my duty is to as the questions. The viewer must answer them”. He also said that he is refusing to vote as he doesn’t see any good choice between “cat shit and dog shit”. On the video’s aim however, he stated that “either way tomorrow goes, the visuals are meant to create contemplation. Because it’s obviously bigger than just tomorrow... It’s about the desperate acts of people who believe something that is preached by an unbeliever.” Watch the video below, and revisit our recent interview with Manson.
