Directed by Chris Hopewell (who previously worked with the band on “There, There”), the video is a cute stop-motion animation in the style of Trumpton that takes a darker turn with its Wicker Man-referencing ending. The song, which is the band’s first single since 2011, has been through various iterations over the years – it was first referenced on the cover art for 2003’s Hail to the Thief and has since been teased in live shows. “Burn The Witch” will be available to purchase from all digital services at midnight tonight (May 3). Though it’s only being released as a standalone single right now, you can probably expect it to appear on Radiohead’s new album, details of which are still hazy right now.
