After setting social media alight with his suspiciously bad video for “Hotline Bling” last October, the Canadian rapper has left people divided over his levels of awareness. Could Drake – real name Aubrey Graham – actually be a bonafide marketing mastermind? Or is he just an unassuming guy who enjoys a bit of dad dancing? Given all commotion that’s surrounding his new album VIEWS, there seems to be more of a case for the former. The record has already spawned countless memes for its photoshopped front cover, which features a tiny image of the rapper on top of Toronto’s CN Tower. It’s so popular, in fact, that it’s now spawned its own generator: allowing anyone to add a tiny champagne papi to a photo of their choosing. So, to celebrate the record’s release tomorrow – as well as its freshly dropped tracklisting, and its new title (from Views From the Six to just VIEWS) – I decided to try a few of my own. TWIN PEAKS DRAKE How do you improve one of the most influential TV shows of all time? Is there anything that could make that red room more surreal? ...What about a tiny, sad Aubrey Drake Graham? You are so welcome! LOST IN TRANSLATION DRAKE Ditto the above, because obviously this already looks like an infinitely better (and considerably lonelier) film. BIEBER BUM DRAKE Beautiful and breathtaking. I actually feel more proud of this than anything else in my life. DRAKE DRAKE Drake upon Drake. Meme upon Meme. Heaving with symbolism, this one. SHIA AND DRAKE “Nothing is impossible!” screams Shia. Drake cries. ‘BABYDICK’ DRAKE Haven’t had any nightmares for a while? Don’t worry. Trump will always come through for you.
