Last night was a busy one for Drake. After joining Rihanna to hot up a pretty dull Brit Awards with a performance of “Work”, he went straight to Village Underground in Shoreditch to perform with Section Boyz. It looked way more fun than the Brits, an awards show that largely ignored black British artists.

After the performance, Drake announced that he was “the first Canadian signed to BBK”, BBK being Boy Better Know, the grime label founded by Skepta and his brother JME over a decade ago.

Over the past year, Skepta and Drake have cultivated a strong brotherhood, Drake even inking himself with a BBK tattoo. Despite the blossoming friendship, this announcement still comes as a shock. Make no mistake, it’s a game changer.
