After courting controversy with her sequinned tit pasties and her dismissal of Nicki Minaj's VMA snub, the “Wrecking Ball” singer is now getting candid once again – only this time, it's her sexuality that's in the frame. In an interview for Elle UK's upcoming October issue, Miley addressed her famously fluid relationship choices. “I’m very open about it – I’m pansexual,” the VMAs host revealed. “But I’m not in a relationship.” To anyone not familiar with the term, those who identify as being pansexual look beyond the gender binary of male/female, and are not limited in sexual choice with regard to biological sex, gender, or gender identity. Although Miley has previously identified as queer, this admission paints a much clearer picture of how open she really is. As it currently stands, only 1 to 2 per cent of the population would describe themselves as pansexual. However, that number is steadily on the rise – especially as our attitudes towards different sexual preferences get more and more accepting. A recent YouGov poll revealed that half of young people don't even identify as straight, which, when you think about it, is pretty staggering. “I’m 22, I’m going on dates,” she added. “But I change my style every two weeks, let alone who I’m with.” Expand your creative community and connect with 15,000 creatives from around the world.READ MORE‘UK Ug’: How Gen Z Brits reinvented rap in 2025 How a century-old Danish brand became pop culture’s favourite sound systemDHLInside singer Sigrid’s intimate walks through nature with her fans ‘The unknown is exciting’: Why Gorillaz’ upcoming album is all about deathThe 20 best tracks of 2025, rankedThe 20 best albums of 2025, rankedThe renaissance of Zara Larsson: ‘I’m out of the Khia Asylum’The 10 best music videos of 2025, rankedListen to our shadowy Dazed Winter 2025 playlist7 of Chase Infiniti’s favourite K-pop tracksMeet The Deep, K-pop’s antihero ‘This is our Nirvana!’: Are Geese Gen Z’s first great rock band?
