MusicNewsSkepta wins MOBO award with £80 music videoProof that the best things in life come cheapShareLink copied ✔️October 23, 2014MusicNewsTextThomas Gorton Skepta took to the stage at the MOBOs last night to remind everyone that expense doesn't necessarily equate to excellence. After winning Best Video for their lo-fi clip "That's Not Me", Skepta revealed to the crowd that his video collab with JME only cost £80. Basically, they shot the film for less than the cost of a pair of Nike Air Max. "I said if there's one award I want to win, it's for this video. Coming from the streets, you feel like, 'ahh my man's video cost a hundred thousand, my man's video's a million, I have to keep up with that!'" Skepta said as he accepted the award. "'That's Not Me' video cost me 80 English pounds." Unfortunately, the people who shot the video for Skepta wasn't around to share in the glory. Just Jam organisers Tim and Barry said that they'd found out about the award as they were sat in a car park, and said that this basically summed up their career: So first time we ever won an award... No invite to the ceremony... Sums up our career hahahahafcfssf pic.twitter.com/bhlcw7rmJk— Tim And Barry (@timandbarry) October 22, 2014 Don't be too hard on yourselves, guys; you just won a MOBO!
