Music / First LookAtlanta punks The Coathangers globe-trot in a new videoA knit doll couple are worlds apart in the all-girl trio's sweet and spiky ‘Drive’ShareLink copied ✔️October 21, 2014MusicFirst LookText Owen Myers I saw Atlanta punks The Coathangers supporting Mika Miko in Brooklyn a few years ago, in a scrappy $5-entry warehouse where their power pop was rambunctious enough to start a moshparty, but taut enough to keep their tunes running around your head all weekend. Now a three-piece, they've kept the same knack for well-crafted songs (which feel like they intuitively flipped them off in an instant) on their fourth album Suck My Shirt, out in the UK on November 3. In a sweet new video for the spiky, super-catchy "Drive", a knitted doll couple travel from buses and planes to dive bars, as vocalist Crook Kid Coathanger (aka Julia Kugel) sings "It's been too long, baby it's been too long / And I wish you would drive me home". Check them out on tour in the UK this November. Escape the algorithm! Get The DropEmail address SIGN UP Get must-see stories direct to your inbox every weekday. Privacy policy Thank you.
