For all their doomy production and gloomy imagery, the first proper single from mysterious British three-piece Vaults earmarks them as a properly inventive pop propositon. The track follows last year’s winsome, Bat For Lashes-ish first track “Cry No More” (which racked up half a million listeners on Soundcloud), and heralds a broader sound and singer Blythe's grandly assured vocals. “We don’t need no premonotions”, she sings, welcoming in a flurry of strings that soar into the light. It’s out on June 9 on National Anthem, the label with a knack for spotting crossover potential, and who put out Haim and Chvrches vinyl back in 2012.
