London / New York electronic trio TEETH’s debut album WHATEVER had some heady highs: the epic “See Spaces” (and its slimewave video) and 2011’s loopiest pop track “Flowers”. They filmed the video for their blasting comeback track “SHELTER” during a trip to Shanghai, in an ex-nuclear fallout shelter that’s now a club. In one take, director Michael Prommisit shot frontwoman Veronica So (who has blogged for Dazed as The Fashionable Futurist) reciting the sado-maso-disco lyrics “I’m in the ice box / Hypnotized / Play dead / Hands tied” under strobe lights – unrelenting but with a firm sense of fun, too.
