The latest to join the all-star ranks at NTS Radio’s Summer Season last Friday was legendary label R&S Records who hosted a Takeover with Lone and R&S DJs. Having come from experimental techno-centric beginnings putting out the likes of Model 500 and Aphex Twin in their early days, the Belgian-born and now London-based record label in the recent years took a new turn with their comeback, revived with contemporary producers like Space Dimension Controller, Pariah and Blawan, and spearheaded James Blake’s breakthrough with the CMYK release. Since signing up bands like Vondelpark and Egyptian Hip Hop and brand new signings dBridge, Alex Smoke and Tessela, they’ve truly established themselves as a cult imprint with a diverse and open-minded vision.
