Premiering tonight, 13th November at Curzon Cinema in Mayfair, London alongside an introduction from David and Stephen Dewaele, the new film is the 23rd out of 24 instalments to Soulwax/2ManyDJs' epic audio-visual project, Radio Soulwax. Soundtracked to select cuts from Bowie's back catalogue as part of their ambitious Radio Soulwax endeavour, which hosts a constant 24-hour/7-days a week mix. DAVE is a retro-tastic filmic journey as a homage to the iconic British musician, mainly centring on his late 70s/early 80s period. Here, Dazed Digital premieres the surreal and hilarious film in all its tongue-in-cheek glory. Dazed Digital: What is your fondest memory/moment about the film?Soulwax: Just the fact that it was made purely on goodwill and favours from everyone involved, is obviously a great feeling. DD: If you could be the character from any David Bowie song, which would you be?Soulwax: I am a DJ, I am what I playDD: Tell us something we don't know about Bowie.Soulwax: He actually made his own soundtrack to The Man Who Fell To Earth but Nicolas Roeg rejected it, and apparently it sounded like the instrumental side of Low. Interesting, because Bowie used a still from that film for the album sleeve and supposedly had a copy of the album sent to Roeg when it was finished saying "This is what I had in mind for the soundtrack".DD: How many films will there to come in the series and what can we expect next?Soulwax: Well, this is the 23rd in a series of 24 so one left but none of them are as ambitious as this one.
