Known for her work with producers like Falty DL, Starkey, and Ital Tek, the vocalist/instrumentalist Anneka is now working on her own EP. Based in Brighton, her past work with bass/electronica producers has meant she's appeared on Radio 1, Xfm and 6music. She also joined Starkey and Reso in the “Build The Beat” challenge set by Mary Anne Hobbs to create a song from scratch in two hours on her BBC Radio 1 Show, live from the legendary Maida Vale studios. Dazed spoke to her now about her current endeavours and offer up the unique chance to use her new acapella for your own creative use in a remix competition.

Anneka: I'm ace at guessing Charades / club singing (as in Vic Reeves style).

Anneka: Hoarding

Anneka: ‘clap’ hits which are made up of all sorts of jangly percussive sounds.

Anneka: Cotton nighties with cheesy animal motifs in winter.

Anneka: Chunky scrambled egg on toast with ketchup and mustard.

Anneka: Struggling to find an answer, anyone who’s been to Watford will understand.

Anneka: Only having 24 hours in a day.

Anneka: The new Kuedo, Holy Other, The Weeknd and Laura Marling.

How would you describe your work?
Anneka: Weird pop influenced by UK bass music.
