As he releases his new EP on the upcoming Good Years label entitled, 'Patience', London-based producer Lil Silva churns out an exclusive mix for Dazed Digital - before he plays his close friends' and affiliate label, the Numbers' stage at this Saturday's Dazed Live festival. His debut 12” with ‘Seasons’ and ‘Funky Flex’, before the more recent Night Skanker EP on Night Slugs, was a fine example of his uncanny knack for seamlessly blending grime, UK Funky and house elements, attracting the likes of Sampha featuring on his high-octane tracks.

WHAT'S…

...your worst vice?
McDonalds at 6am after the drive back from a gig... This seems to happen a lot, four or five cheeseburgers on the bounce.

…the story behind your name?
I've been tagged it from a young age after my older brother "Silva C", they called me Mini Silva a first... Then I shorten it to Lil, less syll-a-bles!

... your favourite sound?
Michael Winslow (Police Academy)

...your favourite website?
Redtube.com

... good for breakfast?
Overnight Chinese and Red Bull.

...at the top of your shit list?
Bruno Mars

...are you listening to now?
Chopped and screwed versions of every Bruno Mars song made.

How would you describe work?
Afrocentric dancefloor movers, sometimes simple but effective.

What can we expect from your set at Dazed Live?
Tracks off the new Patience EP that comes out end of the month on Good Years, includes vocal track ft Sampha! Some untitled bits and classic movers for the rave... Just bring towels for the power hour!
