DJ SEGA BY DIPLO, DJ CASI AND DIRTY SOUTH JOE

Philadelphia club nobility talk about 20-year-old DJ Sega (aka Robert Taylor Jr.), the city's most blazing young DJ/producer, and his crazy, scene-defining under-18 Friday night roller skating rink party, Jamz.

Diplo from Mad Decent/Hollertronix

"Sega's 'Got You All In Check (Woo Ha)' is a huge track in Philly, and it's cool because most of the kids don't even know the Busta original. Hollertronix has always been about fuckin' up shit and making it your own. These parties are dance crews and freaks dressing up. Something you wouldn't expect from black Philadelphia. But yeah, it's under-18s only, so it goes to prove the ol' heads are boring!"

Casi G of Flamin Hotz Records/5151 Blog

"5151 was one of the first blogs dedicated to the Philadelphia club scene, started in 2005 by Digital Dan da Infamous One. 5151 started a mix series to support local DJs, the first was by JDS and Benja Styles, the second being Clubheadz Vs Rockstarz with DJ Sega and the third will be DJ Dee Squared mixing tracks by 17-year-old super producer Dwizz. DJ Sega has been producing the hottest Philly Club tracks and building a solid reputation as part of the Brick Bandits. Philly is small so when someone starts getting a buzz they quickly rise to the top."

Dirty South Joe of Ol' Head Records/Hollertronix

"I ran the infamous Armand's Records in Philadelphia where I met Low Bee and Diplo. I first met Sega when he came to Armand's looking for me to stock his CDs. The man is a rare breed of artist who's not afraid to keep learning his craft, where most folks are content to think that they're the shit and you can't tell 'em any different. Brick Bandits is a producer crew out of Newark, New Jersey founded by Mike V and DJ Tim Dolla. Sega and I are members of the Philly Chapter. Ol' Head Records (mine and Sega's label) is soon releasing a Brick Bandits EP. Ol' Head is 'The Jeffersons' to Mad Decent's 'All In The Family'."
