Forget the countryside walks now synonymous with Barbour and remember its link to International Motorcycle Clothing, for which its classic International jacket was first created in 1936 to correspond with the International Six Day Trials. In the first of a year-long celebration, due to the brand reaching its 75th anniversary of launching the motorcycle jacket, the now fourth generation family-run business is re-releasing the original. Available in two colour finishes, the original green and a distressed shade, which has been finished to look like an aged International. The six-pocket jacket, including two behind, providing the most convenience possible to those riding, was the original choice for Steve McQueen, an avid rider, and his stunt man Bud Ekins, who preformed all of the stunts on The Great Escape, including the now infamous fence leap. But thejacket's popularity doesn’t just lie in the 60’s aesthetic; contemporary celebrities who favours the Barbour brand includeds style icons such as Alexa Chung, Kate Moss and the late Princess Diana. These very special limited edition jackets will be available from mid-December, with only 75 available in each colour, and they’re sure to be a mark of contemporary clothing history, as well as a staple piece in your wardrobe.
