To mark the 30th anniversary of Ally Capellino's accessory and fashion label, the Wapping Project is launching a retrospective exhibition of the designer's work. But it isn't just Capellino who has contributed work to this exhibition; long term fans of the brand has been invited through the website to contribute their own beloved AC pieces. Together with accessories from the archives, art director Rupert Blanchard has taken the impressive bag harvest and created a 'wall of bags' within the industrial space of the Wapping Project. Images, clothes, bags and video installations have all been used to tell the story of the Ally Capellino brand in an exhibition that will run for five weeks. Also Liberty of London have joined in with the celebrations, organising an in-house pre-exhibition installation and selling two AC styles embossed with both company logos and featuring the famous Liberty print as lining. Where do I queue?
