Hiruma was born in Japan but has lived in Florence for the past decade and that's where he pursues the noble business of merging Renaissance style with industrial design. For Spring Summer 2010, Hiruma has married his style with Converse and together they have created a collection of deeply desirable trainers. Re-designing and hand stitching a few of the true Converse classics – such as Chuck Taylor, Jack Purcell and the One Star – Sak has given each shoe leather soles that resembles that of a luxurious dress shoe, and ink printed logos that gives them a playful feeling. Each shoe comes in natural shades of tan, off-white and black leather with hand cut logos. “I wanted to bring together the history of Florence and Converse’s legacy,” says Ryusaku Hiruma of the collaboration. Best of both worlds, available at London's Dover Street Market. Escape the algorithm! Get The DropEmail address SIGN UP Get must-see stories direct to your inbox every weekday.
