It left the world wondering what would happen to the brand that has been putting out collections – fronted by the likes of Laverne Cox and model Grace Bol – since it was founded in 2016. Wonder no more, because the singer has today announced the relaunch of the label in partnership with adidas. More than just a collaboration on the label, Beyoncé has been brought on as a longterm partner of the sportswear giant, and will also create new clothing and footwear. “This is the partnership of a lifetime for me,” she says. “adidas has had tremendous success in pushing creative boundaries. We share a philosophy that puts creativity, growth and social responsibility at the forefront of business.” Like Beyoncé’s inclusive representation at Ivy Park, this is something that will continue throughout the partnership – important for her as the first black woman to own an athleisure company. At the moment, few details are known about what we can expect from the pairing – with the exception of a cryptic, seemingly bee-themed teaser posted to Instagram. Stay tuned for more details.
