Sneaker stans can jump for joy, as 2018’s obsession with chunky trainers continues with the re-issue of the New Balance 608. A cross-training shoe, the 608 originated as a pair of sturdy, everyday kicks that would take you from the cycle track to the aerobics studio, its extensively cushioned midsole supporting you each step of the way.

Don’t be fooled by its hefty appearance though, the shoe only weighs 11 ounces, which we put to the test on a group of models stretching it out after the most fashionable exercise session you’ve ever seen. Shot by Esther Theaker and styled by Ai Kamoshita, the trio flex their limbs in athleisure-inspired looks, proving that the 608 is also wearable outside of the gym.

The classic silhouette has been updated for 2018’s aesthetic and kitted out in 7 new colourways. Don’t worry though, the 608 will still see you go from the club to the shops to infinity and beyond, and look good while you do it.
