Since opening the Chanel SS18 ready-to-wear show, and fronting the Parisian label’s accompanying campaign, she’s become a favourite of Karl Lagerfeld – as the new collaboration with him proves. Announced earlier this year, Karl Lagerfeld x Kaia is a blend of Gerber’s LA style and the refined Parisian aesthetic that Lagerfeld is known for. Mostly monochromatic with the exception of a few pastel pieces, the collection consists of logo-printed leather jackets, hoodies, double-breasted blazers, chunky knitwear, teddy jackets and skin-tight bodysuits. Accessories include mini rucksacks, chokers, velvet bags, trainers, over-the-knee socks, and chained hats. The accompanying images were shot by Lagerfeld himself, both in his Paris apartment and on the beach in Gerber’s hometown of Los Angeles. Obviously, the highlight is the picture of the two together, with the model donning a very Lagerfeld-esque outfit of white shirt and black tie. Karl Lagerfeld x Kaia will be available online from August 30.
