His fantasy-filled imagery has captured the likes of Another Man, Mulberry, and Pirelli – who have all enlisted him to bring his fantasy world to reality. Fans of Walker can rejoice after today’s announcement, that there’s a new exhibition dedicated to him opening in London next year. Set in the V&A, the currently untitled exhibition will see the photographer’s fantastical images brought to life as well as giving a behind-the-scenes look at the make-up artists, hair stylists, and set designers who also contribute to creating the final image. Few details have been revealed about what the exhibition will look like – previous ones have included some of the photographer’s wild props – but set designer Shona Heath has been enlisted to transform the space to include films, sets, and installations too. Surprisingly, this is the only the photographer’s third solo exhibition in London, with Walker previously taking over Somerset House in 2012 and the Design Museum in 2008. It goes without saying, but you won’t want to miss his latest one once it arrives at the V&A next year. The exhibition will open at V&A London from September 7 2019-March 8 2020.
