For its latest perfume ad, the brand chose four rising stars: Ansel Elgort, Dane Dehaan, Mia Goth and Mia Wasikowska, while previous campaign stars include Ben Whishaw, Eddie Redmayne, James McAvoy, Joaquin Phoenix and countless more besides. And who could forget the AW12 show where Adrien Brody, Tim Roth, Gary Oldman and Willem Dafoe took to the catwalk? Anyway, for its Cruise 2017 campaign the house has selected another thesp: Jessica Chastain. Shot by longterm Prada collaborator and regular Dazed contributor Willy Vanderperre, Chastain is captured in various sites around Milan such as the Civic Planetarium, via Daniele Manin, and the house’s newly opened contemporary art gallery Fondazione Prada. The collection she models (Cruise 2017) was unveiled at Prada’s SS17 menswear show at Milan Fashion Week in June. This season, Miuccia had been thinking about travel – a theme which came through in headbands and camping hats, parkas and windbreakers, plus sandals and backpacks filled with clothes and brogues hanging off them. “The backpack – where you put your home, your shelter. Just in case there are difficult times,” she said backstage after the show. Watch Prada’s SS17 menswear show below: Escape the algorithm!
