So in an inverted move, Acne have taken four of their most popular dresses and remade them in true blue denim, combining both the heritage of Acne and what they have become in recent years. The four dresses; Baroque, Tootsy, Melody and Bella are all key pieces from past collections made accordingly in different denims to suit the styles. Baroque, a five layer tiered dress is reborn in stiff heavy weight denim in keeping with its rigid shape. Bella, a soft sack dress has been remade in a lightweight blue denim. Melody is an homage to Brigitte Bardot's towerl bandeau dress and has been updated in soft blue denim drapes. The Tootsy dress from 2006 is now in medium weight denim.“We’ve had requests from customers to do something like this for a long time. We started playing around with some of our popular dresses from past collections, remaking them in denim. The result came out extremely interesting and it seemed to us reviewing these old favorites was absolutely worth doing,” explains Acne creative director Johnny Johansson.Acne: Favourite Dresses Revisited available online now.
