This morning, Saint Laurent unveiled their latest campaign which features model, actress and Instagram It-girl Cara Delevingne. Photographed by Hedi Slimane, the images depict the star modelling the house’s iconic “Le Smoking” tuxedo suit, along with pieces from the AW16 womenswear collection debuted at Paris Fashion Week earlier this month.

With exaggerated shoulders, belted waists and geometric earrings, these pieces (along with the collection more broadly) embody an emphatic nod to the fashion and glamour of the 1980s. The slicked back hair and red lips on the other hand reference Slimane’s classic editorial photographic style.

This isn’t Delevingne’s Saint Laurent debut – in the last four years, she’s worked with Slimane on multiple occasions, walking in the brand’s shows (AW13 and SS15) and featuring in its campaigns, such as its grunge-themed AW13 ad. She’s also modelled for Yves Saint Laurent Beauty, both in 2013 and 2014.

The unveiling of this campaign comes just a day after the house revealed the latest instalment of Slimane’s ‘Saint Laurent music project’ featuring actress, singer and style icon Jane Birkin.
