The singer announced the event, which will see the launch of her collection for Puma – Puma by Rihanna – on Twitter, tweeting a link to a Paddle8 auction giving away two front row tickets to raise money for her charity, The Clara Lionel Foundation (CLF). While the news is yet to be confirmed by the singer, or indeed Puma, the auction listing says that the event will take place during NYFW on February 12, 2016 from 8pm-9pm EST. “For a chance to see one of Rihanna’s many creative collaborations up-close, you and one guest will be flown business class to New York for two nights to experience the premier Puma by Rihanna AW16 fashion show,” the listing reads. While many of Rihanna’s fans will undoubtedly want to attend the event, the starting bid for these tickets is a hefty $15,000 and its estimated price is listed as “priceless”. Other items being auctioned off include a Jeff Koons print, Rihanna’s Christmas tree from 2014 (which is covered in 20,000 faux black ice crystals) and VIP tickets to one of the shows on the singer’s upcoming tour. Showing at NYFW will see Rihanna follow in the footsteps of Kanye West who has showed at the event for the past two seasons. Like Rihanna, West’s first show – Yeezy Season 1 – was done in collaboration with a sportswear brand – adidas. While further details about Rih’s upcoming fashion week debut, it’ll be exciting to see what she comes up with.
