Now she's landed a big deal as the new face of the LVMH-owned cosmetics brand Make Up For Ever. The news was announced in a landmark Vogue interview, the first in the magazine's history with a transgender model. A spokesperson for Make Up For Ever told Dazed that Pejic has been confirmed as the face of the brand for North America, but not Europe. Pejic is the second trans woman to land a major beauty campaign in the last six months. In November, Brazilian model and Givenchy muse Lea T was announced as the new face of Redken. In the Vogue piece, Pejic discusses the changing attitudes within fashion towards transgender models. “There are just more categories now,” she says. “It’s good. We’re finally figuring out that gender and sexuality are more complicated.” Are the industry's casting habits finally catching up with this gender revolution?
