FashionNewsCara Delevingne is in talks to star in Zoolander sequelBlue steel meets British model?ShareLink copied ✔️August 27, 2014FashionNewsTextZing Tsjeng It's been 13 years since we last saw Ben Stiller do his best Blue Steel impression in Zoolander. But if rumours are to be believed, we could soon see Cara Delevingne pulling some of her signature funny faces next to Stiller in the upcoming sequel. The 22-year-old model is reportedly in talks to play a female lead alongside Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson, who are returning to reprise their roles as clueless male models Derek Zoolander and Hansel. "Ben and producers want a big-name model for the film and they need to be jokers and full of natural comedy," a source told the Sun. "They are still working out what the exact role will be but it's likely to include a lot of goofing around." Apparently, initial meetings with Delevingne's agent have already taken place – but Stiller wants to meet the model to figure out if there's any chemistry. The film is written and directed by Justin Theroux, whose relationship with Zoolander goes way back: he appeared as the evil trustafarian runway DJ in the first movie. According to a synopsis on IMDB, the sequel will follow Stiller and Wilson's characters return to fashion: "Derek and Hansel are modelling again when an opposing company attempts to take them out from the business." Delevingne's starring role isn't set in stone, though – she'll have to see off competition from another British model-slash-acturess. Burberry girl Suki Waterhouse, who stars in forthcoming romcom Love, Rosie, has also been approached as a potential lead. Sources have also said that Stiller is looking for some high-profile supermodels to shoot a few cameos. The first film featured guest appearances from Victoria Beckham, Tommy Hilfiger, Heidi Klum, Claudia Schiffer and Donatella Versace, so we don't think they'll have any problem scoring a few fashion bigwigs.
