Fashion / First LookA Zig without a ZagA cinematic journey through Rankin and Missoni's surreal pop maximalist worldShareLink copied ✔️October 18, 2013FashionFirst LookText Naomi Pike Photography Rankin For the latest issue of Hunger, photographer and editor-in-chief Rankin collaborated with Italian label Missoni to create a kaleidoscopic world for their latest collection of handbags, designed by Margherita Missoni. Staying true to Missoni’s aesthetics, the film and editorial’s playful narrative is complimented with surreal set designs by Leeds based duo Lord Whitney. The story tells the journey of Zig, lost in a world of sequins, pinstripes, flowers and polka dots, searching high and low for her place amongst the lively patterns. With the help of Missoni’s leather goods Zig finally finds her Zag, completing the signature print. For Rankin, the beauty of the shoot was in the freedom he was granted, explaining that Missoni was unafraid to let him create “something slightly unusual, colourful and endearing.” CREDITS Photographer & Director Rankin Concept, Art direction & Set design Lord Whitney Creative Director Vicky Lawton Fashion Editor Cynthia Lawrence-John Fashion Assistants Anna Bang, Nicholas Hayden & Virginia Achilli Hair Charlie Le Mindu Hair Assistants Daniel Stanley & Takahashi Shiori Makeup Linda Öhrström at Link Details using MAC Cosmetics Makeup assistants Anja Peebles-Brown, Jemma Grace & Zoe Walters Nails Joanna Webb at Stella Creative Artists using Artistic Colour Gloss Models Ariana, Ava & Olivier at Nevs, Cecile at Union Models Elliot & Simon at Established Models, Hannah & India at Zone Models Jordann at D1 Models, Leila at Profile Models, Michael at AMCK, Natalia at IMG Costume Design Thomas Petherick DOP Marcus Autelli Editor Gary Coogan Music Ian Love Escape the algorithm!
