Dazed & Confused's inaugural east London festival in April is an event that embodies the magazine's ‘State of Independence’ initiative, a creative zone where today’s agenda-setters and provocateurs can stage a call to action for a new generation of innovators. Live music performances include Gang Gang Dance, Factory Floor, Black Devil Disco Club, About Group (feat. Hot Chip's Alexis Taylor), SBTRKT and Aidan Moffat, formerly of Arab Strap. Infamous party starters Numbers and Greco-Roman also host nights, with special guests including Actress (WerkDiscs) and Caribou. For one day only, the festival will also host the UK exclusive of Kathy Grayson's group show Postermat, a Bare Bones zine exhibition and a screening of Captured (New York’s Lower East Side), a film about the prolific photo documentarian Clayton Patterson. The inspiring line-up of talks by digital pioneers, musical mavericks and art rebels includes filmmaker Ruth Hogben, political firebrand Laurie Penny, digital video artists Champagne Valentine, curator Paul Pieroni and freedom-of-information evangelists 'Buy This Satellite'. Closed minds, clear the area! Stay tuned to Dazed Digital for updates on the event. Dazed Live, various east London venues and locations, April 9, 2011. More info HERE and tickets available HERE.
