Dakota Fanning graces the front cover of the new Dazed & Confused, ahead of her role as the lead singer of original glam-rock girl rebels the Runaways. With an exclusive shoot by photographer Mark Segal styled by senior fashion editor Katie Shillingford, Dazed speaks with 16-year-old Dakota about her evolution from child actress to scene-stealing star, kicking rock ‘n’ roll ass, and kissing Kristen Stewart. “It’s amazing what a pro Dakota is at just 16, yet she is also such a grounded, friendly girl,” says Dazed senior fashion editor Katie Shillingford. “I think this shoot captures where she's at right now – a beautiful young starlet!” In its new season fashion special, Dazed’s September issue features over 70 pages of collections.

Featured photographers include Will Davidson, Serge Leblon and Sharif Hamza, with stylists including fashion director Karen Langley, senior menswear editor Robbie Spencer and AnOther Man’s senior menswear editor Bryan McMahon. Also in this month’s issue, Dazed hangs out with TV On The Radio producer Dave Sitek, who left NYC for the California sunshine to focus on solo project Maximum Balloon. Dazed also presents a colourful retrospective of fashion maverick Walter Van Beirendonck, talking to the man about his uniquely rebellious take on menswear, and his influence and inspirations beyond fashion. And Rankin shoots young British actor Toby Kebbell, who talks to Dazed about handling Hollywood’s big guns. Plus: Martin Parr, Queens Of The Stone Age’s Josh Homme, cult noisemaker Michael Yonkers, and all the hottest film, art, fashion, music and more. The issue is also available as an app for iPones and iPads.

The Dazed September Issue with Dakota Fanning is on sale August 12th
