Launched in February last year, the original House of Cards campaign was used to highlight the fragility of Britain's housing market and the fact that a home is being repossessed every eight minutes. To tie in with that campaign, Shelter asked 52 artists to design a playing card for an exhibition that will open at the Haunch of Venison gallery in Piccadilly in September. However, one card has been held back, to invite the public to interpret the 8 of Clubs in any medium they like – photography, sculpture, textiles, illustration, street art, painting – as long as it's an original work of art. All entries will be put to public vote and the top five will be put to film maker Simon Henwood who will choose the winner. Get lucky with your card and it could be hanging alongside the artwork by Marc Quinn, Alexander McQueen, Giles Deacon, Jamie Reid, Rankin and Tim Walker. All entries need to be uploaded to Shelter's website by Friday August 21.Shelter's House of Cards exhibition at Haunch of Venison Gallery from September 24-28. Escape the algorithm!
