Directed by Craig Johnson, the movie will star Woody Harrelson as the bumbling and blunt titular character, alongside Laura Dern as his estranged wife. The film follows Wilson, a character obsessed with his past and hilariously determined to undermine the lives of everyone around him, as he tries to track down the daughter he was unaware he had. Wilson was originally published in 2010 by Drawn and Quarterly, in the form of a comic strip novel. The novel jumps between time, with days and sometimes years between strips. The book – which follows Clowes’ much-loved 2000 novel, Ghost World – is centred around a Californian middle-aged loner who finds humour as well as disdain in the first world problems of everyone around him.
